Do you like...stuff?

Big fan of this new format I have for my blog. Every time I click on it in my favourites list I think 'yeah, good choice, good colour too'. Yay me for not being able to sleep so spending all of one night reformatting everything about the blog. Woot!

Good weekend so far. Went over to Duane's on Friday and wound up spending all night with him and Paul. Duane is so easy to talk to that the three of us just talked for like 12 hours, it was awesome. I know its girly, but sitting around and talking is still my favourite way to spend an evening. Throw in some Diet Coke and crackers and cheese and I'm a happy happy gal :) Then Saturday morning Pauly went to work for 3 hours while I tidied up our mess, then we spent most of the day again just chatting and watching movies and stuff. In between, Duane and Keef and Greg showed up and we hung out with them a bit. Today I'm hoping I can convince Paul to go to IHOP, I'm desperately seeking pancakes.

I'm ridiculously happy about the fact that I don't have to clean our grody stove after all. It's been on my to do list for weeks, but I hate doing it SO much. On Friday during the day, however, the maintenance guy came by for his annual inspection. He asked if we had any problems and I mentioned that we had to use a lighter to light our gas elements. He couldn't believe that we were doing that. So he tested the elements and they, unbelievably, did the right thing and didn't light when he tried them. So he said he would definitely get us a new stove within the next couple of weeks. I suppose that Martha Stewart would still clean her stove, but screw that! If its gonna be in the landfill in a month, I'm not torturing myself on my knees with toxic fumes. I'm dearly hoping that this stove will be white, as the one we have currently is dangerously close to Harvest Gold.

The apartment is looking scarily nice. I'm so proud! Like even Paul's total butchy friends are telling me in private that they can't believe what I have done to turn this place around. Go me! There's still so much left to do though...but I made a list! A new and updated list! This one has all the things that I need to still do in the apartment and all the things that I would really like to buy either new or as a replacement for a current item so that this place meets my exacting standards of what is nice and what is not :p Some things we still have to compromise on. For example, Paul thinks that it is perfectly okay to have stuffed monkeys (SIX) hanging from the dining room chandelier. I have been told on no uncertain terms that these will not come down. I have also been informed that having swords hanging on the wall is cool, and attractive and not at all nerdy, thank you very much! So they can stay...hey, I love the guy, a little tackiness never hurt anyone ;)

Weird - my previous comment didn't post. What I was trying to say is - let's see pics of all your hard work! I am especially interested in your new bathroom. I know you have a nifty new camera and I know you got Hello hooked up and running so no excuses! You can keep the swords and monkeys to yourself though ;)
