Wow, this has been one of the craziest months of my life. But, the end is finally in sight. About three quarters of my stuff has been given away, sold or trashed. Tomorrow, Andra and Matt come to pick up my computer which they are buying from me, and a charity that I believe in is coming to pick up my desk, tv stand and 2 miscellaneous boxes. When that is done, the apartment will be almost empty. I am currently 'sleeping' on a mattress on the floor with no tv or anything, and its a little pathetic :p
To keep myself sane, here is a list of what yet has to be done:
-Charity pick up
-A and M computer pick up
-Pack bags to take along
-Pack remaining 4 or 5 boxes of bathroom/kitchen stuff etc
-Clean everything
-Hope and pray and hope and pray that the girl who applied to sublet my apartment will be accepted (otherwise, me = screwed)
-One address left to be changed (phone number is always busy)
-Return receiver etc from cable/internet and cancel that and phone
-Do laundry
-Take out ever growing mounds of trash
-Say goodbye to everyone
-Have a good cry
I think that's it...that's semi manageable! Reba, you have no idea how much better it made me feel when you commented that this was exactly what you went through a few months ago (Reba is a friend of mine (in a weird sort of way ;) ) who moved across the country a little while ago to be with her man, who, incidentally was my man a few years ago...um, yeah, that sounds about right. My friendship with her man ended when we broke up, but somehow, through blogs and our mutual friend Andrea, we have now become friends, although friends who have never met...is this as weird as it sounds?) ANYWAY! Reba, I never realized what you were going through when you moved away, I think it is incomprehensible to those who have not undertaken this, to realize how much you have to do and give up to move away. But, it sounds like it was so worth it for you, and I believe it will be the same for Paul and I :)
And thanks, mom2, I assume that was you who posted a comment. I'm so looking forward too to being a part of your family, I enjoy your company so much!
Oh oh! And yesterday, I watched Drew take some of his first steps!!!!!EEEEEEEE!!! It was so exciting. He had taken a couple of tentative steps the day before, but yesterday he really went nuts. Me and Matt and Andra sat in a triangle and held out our arms and he just toddled from one to the other. He's still just barely learning, so it was more like *beam, giggle, toddle toddle, fall, clap for himself, everyone else claps, *BEAMS*, repeat* It was totally exciting.
Okay, so this will prolly be my last blog post until next week when I am established in my new digs. Well wishes and prayers are being received and more would be gratefully accepted :)
