Whew!

Today has sure started out a lot better than the past few days. First of all, Pauly and I were both SO sick yesterday, we took my last two dramamine last night before bed and lay there complaining how we couldn't sleep. But then all of a sudden we both absolutely passed out and slept all night without even waking up briefly. When we woke up today, I asked him how he was feeling and he said 'fine, actually' and I did too. It was like a miracle, so sick yesterday and like totally fine today. We both have a bit of a sore tummy and I'm coughing a bit, but that's it. Very weird.

I was also really worried cause my mom and dad and one of my nieces all have birthdays this month. In our family, it is pretty much expected to give gifts for all birthdays, which is a lovely tradition, but with my niece's marriage last year and my marriage upcoming, we are now at 12 people, so that can get tough. But I had the brilliant idea of cashing in a big chunk of my airmiles and using that for a gift certificate for a book store. I had the certificate sent straight to my parents, they both love to read, so I think that will be a great gift for them. And the certificate is enough for them each to get a book, and then probably one more too. Yay! That takes care of two of my worries.

Also, Paul has offically started his training as headwaiter. I heard him explaining the procedure to his mom today and it really sounds like the potential for more money is pretty good. He gets better tables, and works more hours, plus when he is not serving, but doing headwait paperwork etc, he gets an hourly wage that is more than twice as much as his normal wage AND they feed him the meal of his choice! (that's his favourite part, prime rib every night ;) He really likes this job, and before Christmas it was fine, but apparently January and February are traditionally shit for servers. Paul says that after Valentine's Day though, things will almost certainly pick up.

Also, mom in law gave us some good news that I won't go into at this point.

So, nothing really new, but better feelings in general today. Thanks for always putting up with my ranting :)
