Very busy week due to the fact that Ame is here and stuff. Very good, but very busy. I am so tired that I can barely speak or think. But, the unbelievable happened today...WE MAILED OFF OUR IMMIGRATION PAPERS! Its beyond words not to have that on the top of my to-do list every day.
We had a few problems with everything as we prepared the final parts of the paperwork. For example, the passport picture of Paul turned out with just the white background and no visible Paul. The woman who took the picture was actually kind of disturbed. She said 'Is there something that I should know about you?" It was really funny. But we got them done, we managed to acquire the 200 some dollars to send them off and they are in the mail. Wow.
'How does it feel?' you ask.
Really damn good.

YAY!! Part of my job involves filling out those damn immigration forms for people, and I feel your pain. They are long, redundant and annoying. I imagine you save a bunch of money by not using an attorney. The only real advantage is they make sure everything is filled out correctly and all the appropriate info is included in the packet. I dislike doing some of the stuff we do, but that is just because I'm lazy!!!
It's more than a real advantage saving money by not having an attorney file the paperwork for you. In addition to the filing fees dictated by the government, the attorney usually tacks on his fee of anywhere between $1000 and $1500. YAY! Jenn's gonna get her paperwork done and all's gonna be well. As far as Paul not showing up on the photograph, he was taking a snooze and his ghostly form appeared instead. Mom2
Yeah the money saving part was understood, cause I know my boss charges ungodly amounts when I do the majority of the work. No wonder my other boss keeps telling me I need to go to law school...hahahahahaha.
Thanks for the well wishes, guys! I am glad that we saved the money by not using a lawyer, it would be a nice feeling though to KNOW that everything is filled out right and that its just a matter of time. I'm living in fear now that they will call us up and say 'you forgot XY and Z' and you have to refile. *shiver*
I don't think you would have to refile, just send in the stuff that was forgotten. We've done it a time or two. Even attorney's arent' perfect!!!
