Here's a Question

Paul and I are both pretty smart people, but we are apparently missing something because we see a commercial every day that we do not understand. Perhaps you have seen it, or perhaps you can help regardless.

The commercial is for Ingles Supermarket. The voiceover tells us how they have double coupon day every day and that if you go online you can ask questions of their registered dietician. I tell you all this because I have no idea what is relevant to my question. As the commercial ends, a female shopper asks a question to the camera as though she were asking the dietician a question. She inquires 'if my husband ignores me does that mean he has good bone density?'

Anyone? Anyone? Perhaps we are both just missing something obvious, which is why I ask you, my faithful tens of readers, if you understood that. Please help us to feel smart again!

Not a clue. I don't know it, but that's a terrible commercial. You should start a letter-writing campaign.

Never seen that one, and I'm even in the south along with ya. Maybe he's ignoring her nagging about calcium or something and that is why she assumes he has good bone density? Meh? No clue. Sorry.

I love the internets! I just saw the commercial on a local Knoxville station and had the same question. Typed in the odd phrase and BAM!

My guess was that the bone density comment had to be linked to the dietician giving nutritional advice.

My question is, are they suggestion she hits him when he ignores her?

That's hilarious, anonymous! The first thing I did when I was confused by the ad was Google the phrase and I got nothing. Yay to me for adding something to the world of the net.
