58 Hours

Well, we had a nice weekend. On Friday after work, we headed out to Walmart to get the car an oil change etc. for all the driving we are about to do. They told us it was going to be about two hours so that gave us an opportunity to get groceries and eat Mexican food. Let me just say that until I came to Atlanta I had eaten Mexican food maybe three times. Taco Bell maybe once and Carlos and Murphy's in Winnipeg (which is moderately Mexican at best) once or twice and Chi-Chi's once or twice back when Chi-Chi's existed (by the way; Paul used to work there and Chi-Chi's, he tells me, means 'breasts'. Huh!) But, now I LOOOVE Mexican food. And I love the servers at Mexican restaurants. Down here at least, Mexican restaurants are run by, well, Mexicans! And often they are not fully fluent in English. This means that they constantly call me 'lady' which slays me. Like 'here is your change, lady'. 'Do you want more Diet Coke, lady?' I cannot get enough of that.

When we got home we watched two movies, both of which were better than I expected. We saw the Kings of Comedy - really great although thank goodness for closed captioning cause I found Bernie Mac almost incomprehensible. And Harold and Kumar go to White Castle which I though would be utterly stupid but was actually hilarious.

Saturday we relaxed and then Sunday we went to get my wedding ring sized down, got haircuts and brow waxes in anticipation of wedding pictures (Paul likes his hair and brows and I like my hair but my eyebrows are...unfortunate. You know how old women pluck them all out and then draw in that one line...yeah) and then went to Chuck E. Cheese for our friend S's 7th birthday. I had never been there and it was fun! Paul and I won 321 tickets and donated them to her but she still fell well short of her goal of a Dora lunchbox. Then we got home in time to watch the new Bill Engvall comedy special (shut up, we're rednecks, I've admitted it!)

Now three more days of work for Paul, three more sleeps til the wedding, only two more lunches and dinners to make, three more days alone with the dogs etc. YAY!

I'm not a redneck, but Bill Engvall RULES!!!!! You want a really good laugh, download his "I am a cowboy!" stand-up (complete with accompanying song). I've listened to it a hundred times and still laugh my ass off.
