Desperately WANT!

That's a nice looking bed! I'd want it too (though perhaps in blue). My only reservation is the pillows. I know there's this stereotype that women just love to put 10,000 pillows on the bed that you have to spend all this time removing/replacing every day, but I don't get it! I like to have a really nice pillow or two for my bed and that's it! The decorative ones are okay for the couch (just one or two), but for some reason I get so annoyed by the multi-pillow on the bed thing. But then, I don't even like to MAKE the bed, so that makes sense.

Actually, i absolutely agree with that. I love the way this looks but I would probably only want what we have now, which is two pillows each; two in regular pillowcases and two with decent shams (that we still use to sleep on). I am fond of the bolster though, I could probably stand ONE decorative pillow.

Speaking of which, anyone have any advice on down pillows? I've been on the hunt for the PERFECT down pillow for like 10 years now (well, not actively the whole time..*cough* but you know). I babysat for this well-off woman once, and she had TEN absolutely fantastic down pillows on your bed. They were glorious. Since then, I've bought a few myself, one even being a $140 one (that I got for 60% off of that), and it's okay, but it's not GLORIOUS.

The one I am thinking of is mostly down (very little feather content), and it is pretty firm! I hate down pillows where your head sinks to the bed immediately. I know what I'm looking for can be pricey. Any suggestions?

Hmm, I sure don't have advice on that since I'm violently allergic, but my suggestion is to ask the lovely and talented Mir at wantnot.net. I'm absolutely obsessed with this website and she answers questions like yours regularly. Her thing is basically that you can live the life you want but it doesn't have to, and shouldn't, cost a fortune. Good luck!

I know at work we have some down pillows that I beleive are down in the middle with a layer of feathers on the outside (or vice versa). They seemed comfy to me and didn't go completely flat (maybe because of the feather layer?) like some other pillows we have at home. I think they are all made by the Pacific Coast company.
