Updates, updates, roly poly updates ***Now with addendum***

Sorry I haven't been posting much lately. There are several reasons for that most of which I won't go into, but one of which is that Paul had three days off in a row. That almost never happens at the restaurant - he is more likely to have only one day off at a time, but this time it worked out nicely! Today he pays for it though and has to work from noon to close (around 11 or 11:30). So here are some wee updates:

- We had to take Waffles to the doggie ER the other day but he is fine now, mostly. He has some sort of a soft tissue injury to his hip but the vet was SO nice and we have puppy Celebrex to give him for a bit now.

- We had been struggling to come up with the money to have Waffles fixed (since Smeagol is not...you see the problem?) but found a very low cost place to have it done and are extremely thrilled about that. So Wiffy becomes an it on August 22 which is two days before my birthday...we better still be able to go out and have fun! Other than his burgeoning manhood though, Waffles is a very, very well behaved boy, I'm constantly amazed. I guess because I have been with him since he was about 9 weeks old he is quite responsive to me and my commands and sees me as his Alpha (where Smeagol definitely does not). He lets me manipulate any part of his body which makes nail trimming and ear cleaning etc a breeze. I'm really pleased with his progress as a 'good dog'.

- I've been moaning about my need for a 'treat' forever now. Because money is tight and I'm not able to work, I hesitate to ever get something for myself and consequently I have almost no clothes and haven't had a craft of book or new makeup or whatever in ages. But this week I got a few awesome treats. My Mom-In-Law sent us a big box of books which is always a good way to cheer me up, plus yesterday was HARRY POTTER day (more on that in a sec). Then I checked our banks rewards program to see what we could get and cashed in most of our points to get a $20 TGIFriday's gift card which I'm very excited to receive. And Paul felt so sorry for me yesterday that we spent part of our grocery budget on a fabulous lunch date!!! Okay, it was Waffle House and Michael's to buy me a craft, but it was AWESOME!

- Okay, so I read the first 300 pages of Harry Potter #7 yesterday...anyone have any thoughts so far? If you've read farther than me don't spoil it! To be honest though, although I have several things I -should- do today, it will be hard to prevent myself from curling up on the couch and reading the rest of it, especially since its raining AND its Sunday...what else does a person do on a rainy Sunday?

***I read the rest today as we all knew I would. So if anyone else has ( I know I have more time on my hands than most :P ) then you should tell me your thoughts in the comments! Dying to discuss with someone! And if any of you don't want spoilers then don't read the comments on this post. Thank you! ***

- I've sold 2 things on eBay so far and had good experiences. There are a million more things that I want to sell now, it just takes a while to put each thing up; scope out prices, take pictures etc. Its so fun though getting money for stuff that was just sitting here!

- OHOH! Also we ordered our wedding pics a week or two ago so within the next month I can FINALLY SHOW YOU the LOVELINESS that was OUR WEDDING!

Yay for treats and updates. Glad the pups are doing well. I have to wait for my mama to finish her Harry Potter before I get to read it, and I'm hoping against hope I don't hear too many spoilers in the mean time.

I'm sorry that Andy's comment upset you so much that you pulled the post and also removed our blog from your list of links. He and I both have fairly strong feelings about the issue of spaying/neutering animals...partly because of the time we spent volunteering for the animal shelter back in Michigan. We both know that you love your dogs very much and want what's best for them. I'm glad to hear that you have an appointment scheduled for Waffles to get neutered.
