A psychiatrist and a massage therapist. After almost 4 months now of constant sickness and worry (well, hell, the worry has been there for 30 years) I'm many things, but currently one of the worst parts of all of this is my extremely tense and sore back. My neck and shoulders are like rocks and my own fingers cannot get anywhere near penetrating the ropes of knotted muscle tissue. Paul was wonderful enough to give me a 10 or 15 minute backrub yesterday and it was fantastic but I need about 10 more hours to penetrate this mess. He could barely touch me before I was yelping in pain.
The psychiatrist, well, duh. You all know me, and you know what I need. I need someone to talk to desperately and someone who could conceivably help me work through some of my issues would be great.
Of course, I still need a doctor to make me better...our motel room had mold (we discovered it only shortly before we checked out) so we both feel pretty crappy now, although I assume we will continue to get better slowly again/still. But sometimes it feels like if I could just get a couple of good sessions with a massage therapist and a psychiatrist I could recover more quickly.
Okay, I'm gonna go lie on my stomach on the floor for a while and see if I can convince one of the dogs to walk around on my back.

The School of Medical Massage in our area does hour massages for $31! If you have a college or a school close to you that does medical massage, they may have a program like that. The places around here are usually about $65-$75 an hour normally, so $31 is a steal. Check with the hospitals and stuff, see if they can tell you where to call. Sooo worth it.
Oh, also.....stretching will help loosen you up as well. 15-20 minutes in the morning of slow stretches and 15-20 minutes before you go to bed will do wonders.
I sound like my mother. bleah!
