I am such a great f-in planner that I had most of Paul's family's Christmas gifts wrapped and ready to go so I brought them along to save postage. I rock. And today we shipped off the package of presents for my family. That means that all the Christmas gifts we have left are 1 for each of Paul's two nephews and for each other. And, we may forgo gifts for each other this year due to the EXTRAORDINARY COST OF MOVING OUT OF STATE!
I'm good at segues!
So, I've been packing and making phone calls like a mo-fo so we can move, in theory, this weekend. Tomorrow we head back up to TN to attempt to find a home. We have two appointments lined up and will try to get a few more set up too. If we find a place, we will sign the lease and then also try to set up utilities etc. while we are there. We will have to come home on the same day though because of the dogs. Then, assuming that that all works out, we will move this weekend and be done done done with the assy state of Georgia.
Paul starts the new job on Monday (he is currently at his last day at the restaurant). He will be working in the IT department for a large company. This job allows him to use his degree, and there is lots of room for advancement. The pay is not fantastic to start but the cost of living up there is MUCH lower than here and after three months the benefits will be G-R-E-A-T. Plus, like I said, lots of room for advancement.
So, wish us luck tomorrow cause this is our one and only chance to find a place to live before Paul starts work. And you know how well I take this kind of stress and uncertainty!
Anyway, back to packing since once again I've got less than a week to pack everything up. Whee! Thanks tons for all of your well wishes, we hope this will be the beginning of great stuff for us.

got lots o' peeps praying for you :)
Very irritated with this Blogger glitch wherein if my title is longer than a line it runs into the first comment. They should either fix that or limit the allowed length of a post's title.
What the girl said was 'got lots of people praying for you :)' Which is true and fills me with gratitude.
Thank for you retyping that...I can normally figure it out but couldn't this time.
YAY! I will be sending good house hunting vibes your way.
Total yuck about the clock
On a totally unrelated note, maybe some of you parents out there can explain to me the whole "My baby is 25 months" thing. I don't know why that annoys me, but it totally does. To me, 25 months is 2 years old. At what point does that stop? 36 months? 48? I shudder to think how many months old i am (approximately 418, actually!).
Does it have to do with development? I've known parents to get really hung up on that and compare (My baby did this at x months old).
I'm so so happy for you! Also, I love how GA is "assy". Very very good luck vibes sent your way.
And to J.: Yeah, probably development. A kid at 17 months can be vastly more developed than, say, a kid who is 13 months, though they could both be shortened to "a year old". Pregnancies are often measured in weeks ("I'm 26 weeks along!") just to make you completely batshit crazy. For what it's worth I don't measure the ages in months after about 18 months... a year and a half, to you ;)
I agree about the "25 months" thing. It's annoying to me, too. I have a hard enough time keeping track of how many months old Anya is now. I figure when she hits a year, that's it. We'll do half years for a while, and then eventually she'll hit 29 and stop aging all together.
*laughs at Cabol's comment*
Yeah, "A year and a half" makes total sense to me, but "25 months" just seems...weird. Usually once a kid hits 2, I hear "S/he's hit the terrible two's" and i figure they're floating somewhere in that dreaded year.
