Okay, I'm calmer now. I wrote a tirade about Budget rent a truck, but in the end we got our truck, so I figured that I would delete my chock-full-o-swearing post. Movers are here, they are very fast.

Uhaul is the same way, I've heard a lot of complaints of people who show up and find out they overbooked their trucks and, well, don't really care. I wouldn't be surprised to find that all the big truck rental companies operate like that - they must expect a lot of people to just never show up, but when everyone does show up, people get fucked.
You have MOVERS!?!?! *envy* The 10,000 times I've moved usually involve me working like a Trojan, and a few unenthusiastic friends (who can blame them?).
I guess I've been lucky, U-Haul wise. Never had a problem. Lately though, U-Haul's prices have jacked up so high, I've been just renting rental cars to move (huge minivans)
When we moved to Virginia, we did ABF's u-pack thing. They drop off a trailer (as in a semi-trailer) and you pack it as deep as you need, then put up a wooden baffle to separate it from any other freight they pick up along the way. The only downside is they would not drop it off in front of our house in the country because of the roads, so we rented a small Uhaul in VA to ferry things from the terminal.
The price, however, was the same as renting a large enough Uhaul, and that DIDN'T include the gas we'd have to pay. And, well, we didn't have to drive a large vehicle up and down mountains.

Good luck! Can't wait to hear from you from the other side!!! (that doesn't sound anything like I meant it.)
