My husband is so good. He's been getting nothing but praise at work since he started and has been working by himself for weeks already, long before he was technically 'supposed' to, since they thought he was doing such a good job. The hours of his job are a bit screwy though. Paul works 2 twelve hour days and 2 eight hour days and then gets three days off. The three days off is AWESOME and he doesn't even mind working 12 hour days, but the problem is the timing. On the weekends he has to get up very, very early and work for 12 hours both days. But then on the two weekdays that he works he doesn't start until midafternoon and then works til midnight-ish. The problem with this isn't huge, its just that its difficult to get up at two pm on the weekdays and six am on the weekends. And, because the shifts are so vastly different it is impossible to go to bed at the same time every day. Neither of us really mind this whole thing too much but in actual fact I probably mind it more since my OCD requires me to have a very set schedule and Paul's work schedule totally prohibits that.
Today, though, Paul got called into the big boss's office and basically told that he was super rockin' great and that they hired a replacement for him to do the weekend shifts so he could go to regular M-F evening shifts. His boss said 'train the new guy to do things EXACTLY like you do them'. So, Paul will probably train the new guy for several months and then move to a more regular shift. So, yay! I'm so proud of him!
Two Hours Later Edit: I have a job interview tomorrow with the same company. Yikes. its full-time and I REALLY didn't want full time to start with after so long not working, but I guess I'll take what I can get. If I would get this job it would be a very similar shift to what Paul will be working once he's trained the new guy so that would be good. NERVOUS.

Great news! Glad to hear about it and best of luck for your interview!
Congratulations! I always loved getting calls for an interview; it's nearly as good as getting a job. When one is searching endlessly, even a nibble feels like progress. Don't fret about going from no-work to full-time. If you get the job, just jump right in. It's much harder to transition through part time, and easier to adjust to the new normal of full-time.
Oh my...good luck! I hope the interview goes well, and the snap you up...then you can work on getting the same shifts!!
Thanks, guys :) The interview went well, I think. She will get back to me within a week...this is just the first in a several step process if she liked me. I don't want this particular job but beggars can't be choosers so I'm trying to be upbeat and remind myself of how many people are in desperate need of jobs. We'll see, I guess.
I think my comment got eaten :(
I'll say it again...keeping fingers crossed and prayers a-flyin' for you, Lady.
