All right, I have my first interview FINALLY! 10 am Monday I have an interview at our local bookstore. I realized just now (9pm Sunday) that I have nothing to wear, seriously, do you think I'll get the job if I go in for the interview in yoga pants and one of Paul's T-shirts? Okay, actually seriously, I'll have to wear jeans cause all I have bottoms-wise is jeans, a gross old pair of baggy cargo pants and the dress I wore to our wedding...so jeans it will be! With a nice blouse and decent shoes that should be okay, right? Oh crap, there's another problem, I don't have decent shoes either. Oh well, so be it, I'll do the best I can since I can't very well afford to go out and buy clothes until they give me a job!
I've researched the company, polished up my resume and thought of my 'best and worst qualities'. Also, my mom and dad's church is going to pray for me tomorrow morning *beam*. So, hey, at least God'll be on my side!
*EDIT* Oh crap, do you know that when you lose 30 pounds none of your bras fit anymore? Losing weight is awesome, but my already pathetic wardrode is really dismal now. One more decision for me now - what to wear under nice blouse; sports bra that fits or nice bra that boobs might spill out of. Hmm.

Best of luck. You'll do (and look) just fine.
Can boobs spilling out of a bra at an interview really *hurt* things?
As a manager who interviews her temps...wear the sports bra. The "Quadra-boob" is never a good look :)
All luck to you, lady!!
Thanks folks, I think I managed to look okay, the boobs stayed in place and the interview went very well, I believe.
They are now doing a background, criminal, and credit check on me before possibly calling me for a second interview. The job is near minimum wage and they are doing a BACKGROUND CHECK! This whole checking thing must be new, or more American than Canadian because I have never had to do this stuff before...especially for such a low-paying, low-responsibility job.
Oh well, they won't find anything bad so it will just take some time I guess :)
Thanks for the well wishes :)
It's gotten a lot more frequent the last few years for what people think of as shit minimum wage jobs. I think the reason is a lot of those jobs are retail, and you are handling money, credit card info, and other personal data from customers. So they want to at least make a token effort to make sure they aren't hiring people who will steal that sort of thing.
It was one thing, I suppose, when the worst thing might be an employee walking off with a tv. But now, I can quickly memorize or make a copy of that credit card you just handed me, and really screw someone over.
Get the to a thrift store or resale clothing store! You can get nice clothing for next to nothing...that way when you loose even more weight, you won't have invested tons of $$ into a wardrobe!!
You know, I find it very tough to find nice plus-size clothing at thrift stores. I've looked quite a few times and have never found anything (except one winter coat that I wore forever...I forgot about that).
I should look again though, good idea :)
I know I'm a bit late on the draw, but I wanted to add that in my seemingly on end in site search for a job here in Norway, I have been sent to a 'your a loser because you can't find a job' class (that's what I call it because that's how it makes me feel, but they tell me it's because I've been out of the job market so long that my resume has a serious gap, so they hope to get me a practicum....). Anyways ... I have been told, at least here, that the trend has gone to less formal clothes during interviews. I was really stressing over what to wear to my last interview (lack of options in my wardrobe, as well) and my teacher informed me that a nice pair of jeans and a nice dressy type shirt were okay to have on. Not sure if that trend is the same in the States, but, there you go, for whatever it may be worth.
Good luck! For me, it really sucks to have people look at my CV, say wow, you've worked a lot, have a lot of experience, then realize that was all before I moved to Norway over 8 years ago and that I've only worked a year here, and that was finished 5 years ago. *falls over*
p.s. Sorry if I haven't been around much to comment, but it seems my depression has drug me down, and I don't feel like doing anything, really. So down in fact, that my teacher has suggested that maybe I should put off searching for a job for a bit and just find some professional help. *sigh*
I totally get all that, Kim...and I'm really sorry that you're feeling so poorly these days. Please feel free to email any time if you want to vent or whatever. *smooches* to you, babe.
