Catch-Up

Sorry folks, I've been really remiss with answering emails and responding to comments lately. My apologies. However, in response to your questions, I am pleased to announce that last night I worked my first shift at the bookstore. My feet hurt so bad that I could hardly walk when I got up this morning, but other than that it was okay. I work again today and tomorrow and a whole bunch next week so I may continue to be remiss with the email and comment responding since I'm gonna be awfully tired for a while until I get used to this again...if my old lady self CAN get used to retail again.

The job seems okay although I sure wish I wasn't in retail again, however, I also have an interview for a receptionist position later on this week. Yay!

Thank you so much for all your well wishes, I sure do appreciate it :)

Congratulations Baby!! Try to remember to drink lots of water, if you can...it will help with the transition to being on your feet all day...

Someone once told me that taking Vitamin E would help with foot pain. I tried it when I was pregnant and it helped a little. Congrats on the job babe!!! Very happy for you!

WAY. TO. GO!

The feet thing sucks, but it does get better after some time goes by.
As someone who has worked retail and been on her feet enough, here's my one piece of advice:

1) Splurge, splurge, splurge on comfy shoes! You'll totally thank yourself later.

I second everything J. said, to the letter. I completely remember the aching feet but it goes away/gets better after a few shifts. Congratulations!! I am so glad for you. A second income will make a world of difference.

Big congrats, sweetie! I know the feet thing from having worked the jewelry counter at The Mine for all those years, and yes, after a couple of days, your feet get used to it. Hoping that things do pan out for you on the receptionist interview if that's what you want instead! Best of luck. Love, Mom2
