If anybody knows of a website that could help me with this issue, I would appreciate it. There are numerous sites that tell you how to speed up your customs process when crossing the border by airplane; what to do and say and wear and how to generally make the process easier. I learned a lot about what to wear and how to pack to make things quick and easy for everyone involved. What I would like though is a similar site for crossing the border by car. For the sake of the customs officials, my travelling companions and myself, I would like to find out what tips they have regarding how to cross the border efficiently.

For once, I have no clue *hahhahah.* But seriously, I don't have any advice. I hope all goes well.

I have no clue either, I can count the number of times I've crossed a border on two hands. Maybe don't make jokes about having drugs hidden somewhere. That's probably common knowledge though.

Sadly, I have no idea either. All I know is that you have to have identification and your Birth Certificate at the ready.

Honestly Jenn, I wouldn't worry too much. I've only ever had a hassle once when we drove to Chicago the last time. Other than that, it's pretty easy, they ask you where you're going, how long you're staying, and the nature of your trip. As long as you don't say 'Bazooka Smuggler', you'll probably have no issues. And yes, just make sure you have any ID ready in case they ask for it.
When I crossed into the US last week, the border guard looked at my passport, asked me how long I was staying, and that was it. Stamped it, and said, "Have a nice trip". Easy as cake.

I have been pulled over entering the states by car and even that was not too bad. They were suspicious since we were 2 canadians, an aussie and a brit and all pretty young.

After seperating us and getting the same innocent story about shopiing and going to the Dixie Chicks they were satisfied. All in all only a 45 minutes delay.
