Did I ever get emails about my wine comment from last week! Who knew people felt so strongly about their wine! Okay, I was quoting a source that I read...in doing some follow up research, I have found sites that list wine as having anywhere from 80 to 300 calories. The original book that I was reading from indicated that many glasses had around 250 calories in them, thus around 750 for three, which is indeed the size of a meal. The problem seems to be that a 'glass' of wine is so subjective. Oftentimes a glass of wine is listed as 125 mls, which is about half a cup. Half a cup of wine is very little, so people are often fooling themselves regarding the amount.
BUT! My point was not to piss people off, my point was simply that I'm glad that -I- am not much of a drinker because I get plenty of calories already! I just eat them in more obvious things like potato chips and ice cream cones.

Oh Jenn, isn't that just like you to write posts that stir up controversy and peoples' danders. Shame on you!
WAH!
When I made my wine, I bottled them in beer bottles (12oz). I find this is the perfect amount for me to drink over the course of one (or now that I am in my dotage, two) nights. That would be three 125ml glasses, so I'm not so sure I'd call that an unusually small serving amount, you lush. :)
My dad also bottles his wine in beer bottles. His favourite bottles are the ones that held Grolsch beer, with the little ceramic tops. He and my mom say it's the best for one dinner's worth of wine. I agree with Jenn that 125ml (half cup) isn't very much though.
