Happy 1/2 a Year!

Yesterday, Paul and I had been married for 6 months. I'm thrilled to note that Paul and I have been a couple (both married and just dating) longer than I was a couple with ex-husband. Yay!

Paul and I have been bombarded with shit since we got married; really almost everything bad that could happen, has. We struggle to be allies against the stream of crap and sometimes succeed and sometimes do not. On top of all of it though is our knowledge that we will stay together through thick and thin. We know that we were meant to be together and that God made sure that it would happen and that pulls us through a whole lot. We are asking God every day to please help us; help us to get healthy again, help us to find a way to be able to pay all of our bills every month and maybe, MAYBE have a few extra dollars for a date or a treat now and again. Together, in our adversity, we get stronger and our love for each other grows.

Six months is not a very long time - but when your time together thus far has been so severely tested it can seem like one heck of a long time. We can be proud, though, that we are more in love than when we said our vows and that we continue to work together in hopes of a better life.

Congrats! Our first year felt like five, in both a good way and a bad way. Hang in there!!
